Glimmer ♦ She-Ra and the Princesses of Power ♦ warning for season 5 spoilers

1. Holding up the wall at the party

Despite the festive time in New Amsterdam, Glimmer finds it hard to join in the carnival atmosphere. Probably because she herself has been ripped from her home, her celebration, and her friends to end up in a strange place full of machines and shining steel buildings that remind her all too much of the people and places that put her own home of Brightmoon in danger for so long. So she slouches through the crowd, somehow feeling out of place in a sea of thousands where everyone seems to have different fashions and different styles that she could easily fit into.

Despite herself, she can feel a rumble of hunger in her belly and with the strange money in her pocket, she eases herself into line at one of the multitude of food trucks that are eager for her business. She squints at the menu as she approaches the front of the line, still getting used to how different this place is.

"...What's schnitzel and why is it in a burrito?" She asks, glancing towards the person in front of her (or behind her, either works). Her voice is a little quiet, but it cuts through the noise around her--someone used to being heard if nothing else.

2. Safe, but maybe not sound

The worst part of this, is not feeling her connection to Etheria. In one of the safehouses, Glimmer is trying desperately to reach the comfortable powers she's been so used to tapping into for, well, her whole life. She stretches out, trying to access the Moon Stone, to teleport even if it's only a few feet--but each time her chest burns and her body strains and there is nothing. There's only the dispirting sensation of defeat, of uncomfortable pain and the sensation of emptiness. That a part of her has been lost. Glimmer slumps back, finally collapsing onto one of the sagging old couches in the living room with a dispirted groan. She's trying quite hard not to simply burst into tears. Instead, she just looks up at whoever happens to be in the room with her.

"I can't make it work anymore." It's a grossly familiar feeling--when she had been off of Etheria, away from the magical power source, she had been left cut off from the comfort of her magical prowess.

"...Is it going to stay like this?"

3. Dial up noises intensify

Hi. I'm not really good with this tech stuff, but I'm brand new to the city and I could really use someone to help me figure out stuff to wear. I'm not used to all the fashions you have here! So, help?

I'd be really grateful.
