[Natasha knows what he means without him having to elaborate. The kind of training they both have-- It leaves you a light sleeper. Someone shifts in their sleep, and suddenly Natasha is wide awake, adrenaline coursing through her veins, as she reaches for a weapon, ready to fight for her life. It wasn't like that at the farm with Clint and Laura. Even the unpredictable sleep patterns of the kids became a sort of background noise, easy for her subconscious to dismiss as safe.

She's slowly getting used to her room mates nightly proclivities. Knows that Frank gets up to pee at least once a night, and Kara's sleep cycle goes from calm, deep REM sleep back up to thrashing in bed with nightmares in at least twice a night. But her brain hasn't quite ticked them off as safe yet. (Nevermind the paper thin walls and the movements of people at all hours.)

If this dream didn't seep the energy out of her, leaving her drained rather than refreshed upon waking, maybe it wouldn't be so bad. A dream she can't wake from easily. Maybe she could just hang out for a solid six hours, get that uninterrupted REM sleep. But the longer she lingers in this place, the more it takes out of her.]

We could meet up. [Natasha offers easily, no real fear of rejection. They're from the same time and space, sorta. Of course they'll join up, like metal filings pulled by a magnet.] Somewhere with food and less--

[A gesture towards the desolate landscape around them that seems to encompass both the dreary physical space and the emotional mess it represents.]
