We don't have any sort of one creator in our history. A lot of it is lost, actually, or just inaccurate.
Most people are just told what history was, and don't seem to question it. There's a lot hidden about a race of people who died out long ago on my planet. They do have scriptures that have been found and warped, though.
We do have plenty of monsters back home though, that's for sure!
