"It was." Lexa has no regrets about killing Queen Nia or any of the many times it was the necessary option. She was not as bloodthirsty as many of her people, but in many ways the only reason the coalition happened, and the people followed her or stayed in line, was because of her willingness to kill strategically. To kill a queen to make peace with an entire clan was certainly blood worth spilling, in her mind.

She finds herself feeling very defensive here, in a city and position she is not comfortable with yet. She knows where the exits are, how she would defend the two of them if they were attacked here, and Lexa is dangerous with her back against a wall. She's never felt this disconnected from the world around her, but it is the only option right now. Still, Clarke is wise. Lexa does trust her opinion, even if her hackles are up. She just needs time to adjust. She will face this discomfort and move past it. She is no lost girl.

"Always the one with the vision," she says, admiration in her steady gaze. There was no one else who could convince her that emotion was strength. Only a visionary. "How do you plan on making it what it could be? You are not Wanheda here. Do these people follow you? The ones like us." Lexa is a leader without a following at the moment. She does not like it. What else is there for a commander who served her time?
