[Ellie's ready, as always, to take the opening. She's quick and quiet, built for stealth and tight corners, misdirection and when all else fails, a knife to somewhere vital. Others she knows are heavier, stronger, able to stand up to the grappling she can't.
And some are strong enough to draw the fire.
But it's the sort of things that's a last resort. And even though it's a game, even though she knows nobody is in actual danger, it still hits her right in the chest when he stands up and draws all of the fire and attention. Everyone still ingame swings to target him, and Ellie springs into action.
She goes for the target at a dead run, leaping over obstacles, dropping and rolling, sliding around corners, and climbs the tower like she's used to scaling far more perilous things. She takes out the one person left at the top, surprising them with a point-blank blast, and slams her fist on the button.
Dance music blasts around them, a laser light show of congratulations, and Ellie catches her breath, sliding her way down from the tower to go and find her partner. She flashes him a smile as she jogs back to him, but there's something in her eyes.
It's just a fucking game, Ellie. It wasn't like he was in any real danger.]
That was a hell of a blaze of glory to go down in.
