Everything else may be insane and wrong, but at least Hawke will always be Hawke. There's a center of the world for you.

Isabela nodded. "Awhile," she echoed. "I can cope with that one. Vague enough to mean nothing, but still give a sense of hefty time." She'd missed Hawke. A few letters here and there weren't the same. But then Isabela wasn't the easiest woman to keep in touch with, since she wasn't often on land long without reason and even then it wasn't always the same land. And now here she was without a ship again, in a different world. But with the same Hawke. She'd take what she could get.

"Well, you could have worked for a brothel, or rolled drunks in the alley, or tried to put on Daisy's sad eyes and begged for it. But all in all, this was probably your best choice. You are good at pummeling things," Isabela told her cheerfully.

"Ohhh. We should get in a few good fights some night and make sure we're nice and filthy and bloody and then go over to the expensive bar with our winnings and see if the coin wins out over their snooty noses going up." Isabela grinned. "Maybe scrape up a few teeth from the ring and pretend to spit them out on the nice shiny floor?"
