[ At the mouth of that hole the figure crouches as if filling up the space and more, whole body like a massive boulder of opposition. Breathing heavily, it stares into the pit for what seems like an eternity. The eyes — too human but red like a devil's — grow in intensity, glowing brighter with purpose. The bore into Dean like torches, like ichor, judgement in monstrous form. ]

Do you think him worthy?

[ There isn't so much curiosity behind question as amusement. If this figure is asking the question it's because it's expecting a certain answer, and not necessarily waiting for it, either. ]

Do you think you're worthy? A suitable judge?

I think not.


[ The shadowed figure continues to descend, encapsulating the hole, making it impossible to escape. Behind it the sounds of struggle increase in intensity and yelling in the same deep voice of the man who had reached out to save Dean earlier filters through the passage. He sounds desperate but if there are words to be perceived, they're too distant and garbled to be interpreted. ]
