Well the Greek ones were always the teach-you-something kind of stories. Eurydice is about keeping your word and your determination... what's most important to you. The Ragnarok stuff was just the most fun to read when I was a kid. Epic battles between gods and the apocalypse and all that kind of thing. It got less fun when I was old enough to understand war for real, but they're well written.
