[ It's a good question. Perfectly logical. Would probably make most people realize that such useless anger would be a waste of effort. But Maine is far too stubborn and has far too much rage for his own good. To him, it's perfectly reasonable to keep snarling at people who touch him: after a while, they'll either stop doing it, or he'll make them stop.
He's lived a life of violence. Doesn't see any issue with using it as his first, last, and best solution to problems. After all, it's always worked before.
