[ there's a cabin in the woods. that could be the start of a horror movie, but the woods are calm, the air crisp and fresh, birds chirping. the sun filters through the foliage, the ground is soft, but not muddy. the cabin is simple, wood and small windows, the door opening easily when pushed.

inside, there are books and books and books. one window is open, curtains wafting in the air, a small wood-fire stove keeping the cabin warm regardless. there's a couch and on that couch is a man — broad-shouldered and tall but young, a messy bun atop his head, strands falling out because his hair is really not long enough.

he's reading, but he looks up at whoever entered the cabin. the lines of his shoulders are mostly relaxed. there's a moment of hesitation, possibly almost of disbelief, before he smiles. ]
