NOVEMBER CR MEME
We're well into November now, with our big end-of-year AU event coming up which will help us round out… well, maybe we can end 2020 on a good note? Stranger things have happened.
So, here we go!
◉ Here's the November calendar, which provides a quick rundown of the month.
◉ The Arrival Log is up, allowing this round of newbies to be collected and get settled right before getting whisked off into the AU along with the rest of the Displaced. Let's give them a warm welcome, and there's even a chance for one of the Displaced to become a singing sensation!
◉ On November 16th (so on Monday!) there will be a plotting post for the Battle Royale-based AU event that we'll be running through December. We know that some of you have started figuring out details about your character in the AU already, but this will provide a lot more information, and we'll have headers for people to list what "group" their character is a part of. The log for this event will go up on November 21st, so in a week! And for anyone who's brand new, you can find the original rundown for the AU over here.
◉ For a rundown of everything that's happened so far in game, check out our The Story So Far page. This guy is your big ctrl+f friend. It needs updates for the past couple months, so we'll try to get to that at some point (most likely in January to cover the big updates).
◉ Check out our Setting Page for any ideas you might need about the world at large!
◉ We also recommend that you look over our JOBS PAGE and LOCATION PAGE to get the brain moving. As a quick note: everyone can add and create new locations for New Amsterdam (and develop other megacities)! We'll always review them and reach out to you if any changes need to be made.

AREAS OF INTEREST: lately, it's just been random netflix stuff, video games, sleeping, my four year old nephew and other babble. life's been insane, yo.

POWER: health manipulation
JOB: she doesn't have one yet! she's living off joe's income lmfao but i do intend to get her one because she'll feel at loose ends if she's not doing something.
SUMMARY OF LAST MONTH: she'd just arrived so it was all about getting settled, finding a spot to live, trying to get her feet wet, trying to figure this place out a bit.
PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: really, she's just going to be the mom of her group (when nile's not doing that job) and making sure people get along. she wants to know what this place is and she's very curious about powers but otherwise, it'll still be a settling in month and making sure no one kills each other month.
AREAS OF INTEREST: the abilities and how and why they're chosen. how the people who gave them those know their personalities. and she's interested in how her former immortality will work here as well.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: she probably sticks close to her team mostly but you will find her out at various bars every so often, never getting drunk but having a drink. she's in the fight clubs but not fighting yet.
OVERALL GOALS: really, the goal is to dig her into the metaplot as much as i can when i find an angle. she's so much fun to write in this environment and i wanna do everything i can with her and grow her cr as much as possible.

seriously though he's used to being treated like a pet among the ruling class so her attempts probably won't be met with much resistance. It's a small price to pay for the lap of luxury, after all.

NAME: penny adiyodiCANON: the magicians
JOURNAL:
POWER: emotional attacks
JOB: warehouse worker which means he's going to bitch and complain about being tired
SUMMARY OF LAST MONTH: penny was kind of low key last month but he's slowly becoming more interested in the world itself. he still doesn't want to get too involved and he's still mad about his lack of magic but he's coming around. so, he did some network talking to learn more about things and even added his own opinion here and there.
PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: i have some vague plans wrt penny's job but i need to flesh those out. he'll also be, amazingly, a support system for quentin which is hilarious but he likes quentin and he wants him to be okay especially since he's a good support system for penny, even if penny won't admit it. also, he needs to discover his damn power.
AREAS OF INTEREST: right now, he's vaguely interested in some of the gangs and crime and drugs but otherwise, he's still working his way up.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: you'll find him at bars, mostly. he likes to drink and you might find him in the red light district for drugs. he hangs around quentin a lot and he'll beat anyone up that's mean to quentin.
OVERALL GOALS: overall, i just wanna get penny more into things. he's a butthead and he's kind of hard to like but he'll get there if you give him the time of day more than once.

NAME: marcos diazCANON: the gifted
JOURNAL:
POWER: fear manipulation
JOB: marcos is still a low level grunt at pulsar but he's also doing a lot of side work to set up his own soup kitchen business.
SUMMARY OF LAST MONTH: marcos was also fairly low key, just working on different things here and there. he also participated in the experimentation and didn't die so he's feeling pretty amped. he's probably going to do some more drug trials similar to what he did in the past as well.
PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: marcos is losing a close, close friend in silena so he'll be kind of sullen and moody since he's lost a lot lately. he'll be throwing himself into work and probably making sure helena's okay since she's the only one living with him now. but that also means there's space for others in a nice penthouse. he'll be trying to move past that and working on getting a building secured for his business.
AREAS OF INTEREST: helping people native to new amsterdam and making sure they survive all the chaos that happens.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: marcos is out a lot, making connections, talking to people, checking out buildings. he makes weekly trips to the red light districts because he has a lot of contacts there and he wants to check in on them.
OVERALL GOALS: soup kitchen!!! coming soon, i hope.
