NOVEMBER CR MEME
We're well into November now, with our big end-of-year AU event coming up which will help us round out… well, maybe we can end 2020 on a good note? Stranger things have happened.
So, here we go!
◉ Here's the November calendar, which provides a quick rundown of the month.
◉ The Arrival Log is up, allowing this round of newbies to be collected and get settled right before getting whisked off into the AU along with the rest of the Displaced. Let's give them a warm welcome, and there's even a chance for one of the Displaced to become a singing sensation!
◉ On November 16th (so on Monday!) there will be a plotting post for the Battle Royale-based AU event that we'll be running through December. We know that some of you have started figuring out details about your character in the AU already, but this will provide a lot more information, and we'll have headers for people to list what "group" their character is a part of. The log for this event will go up on November 21st, so in a week! And for anyone who's brand new, you can find the original rundown for the AU over here.
◉ For a rundown of everything that's happened so far in game, check out our The Story So Far page. This guy is your big ctrl+f friend. It needs updates for the past couple months, so we'll try to get to that at some point (most likely in January to cover the big updates).

JOB: Ellie works at The Mermaid as security. It's a little dive with some live music, and while she can't socialize too much on her shifts, she's fond of the place and spends time there outside of work.
SUMMARY OF LAST MONTH: Ellie is next door to being brand new so she's still settling in. She's discovered her powers by narrowly avoiding a fistfight, met all of her CR, snuck out of the safehouse at Red Wings, has stumbled into a few people's dreams, gotten herself a job and a tiny-ass apartment, got herself some robofingers, and managed to keep her head down until she got some attention over a conspiracy theory that turned out to actually be partially right.
PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: Nothing's set in stone quite yet, but I'm thinking of Ellie being a former victor in the arena, unusual because she was a minor at the time. She's got connections to several of the other victors of past games, and may or may not get involved with the rebels. Looking for storylines and connections over there!
AREAS OF INTEREST: My bread and butter is CR, and I love exploring all aspects of that. She's starting to get caught up in the plot of ML for better or for worse, too, and I'm willing to ride this train. While I'm not super into PVP I'd love to get her into some combat situations, especially alongside other characters, and get to use her skills and tap into how murderously protective she gets.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: Ellie swings by Red Wings often enough, and her workplace is an excellent place to meet people. She's gonna be taking an interest in the new people, too- mainly because people here did everything they could for her. I also REALLY love dream logs so be prepared for me to crash yours. C:

SUMMARY OF LAST MONTH: He arrived, went to fight club to blow off some steam, figured out how to properly dress and cook for himself, and wasn't even awful to anyone in the process! Gold star.
PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: Mostly going to be involved in the AU when it starts, though if anyone wants to meet up with him before that point I'm definitely down. In the AU he'll be a member of the ruling class and I'll be using that as an opportunity to unleash everything awful about him that he can pretend to be sorry about later. In other words he'll be a horrible hedonistic brat that thinks everyone is beneath him.
AREAS OF INTEREST: I have a lot of potential areas of interest with him, and which direction he pursues will just depend on who he gets CR with and where his development goes. Some potential things I'm really interested in exploring are:
Maybe he'll try getting on that damn reality show.HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: He is very extroverted and likes to be up in everyone's business, especially the other Displaced, so there's plenty of opportunity to run into him. If he has positive CR with your character he will absolutely encourage them to come spend some time with him because he's needy and likes attention.
OVERALL GOALS: Nothing set in stone just yet but after the AU event I definitely want to start getting him more involved in some metaplot stuff! Otherwise my Areas of Interest are what I'm most interested in pursuing direction-wise.

JOB: I have not officially requested this yet, but I've been planning to have her zero in on the fighting rings. Ring organizers and audience members who like bloodshed and drama will love her, because she brings copious amounts of both to the table.
SUMMARY OF LAST MONTH: She was a new arrival, so just learning the ropes! She is currently homeless (though she wouldn't use that word; she is nomadic, thank you very much) and has zero interest in changing that fact; sleeping outside suits her just fine. She hasn't made any friends, because of course she hasn't, look at her, but she's declared her intentions to help the Displaced get home, so that's... good...???
PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: I'd rather save the bulk of my AU plotting for when the thing actually goes up, BUT I'm leaning towards having her take the in-AU opt-out option: she'll remember who she really is and know that this isn't normal, even if not everyone around her does. Likely sometimes she'll play along for fun, and other times she won't.
AREAS OF INTEREST: OH BOY EVERYTHING. She's a BCE gal suddenly finding herself in a 26th century world, so very many things are unfamiliar to her, and that's a trope I love to play around with. She's violent, has a strong penchant for cruelty, and is prone to explosive outbursts and meltdowns (she will freak out about the empathy bond thing), so if anyone wants to deal with that in any form hmu. She's also fairly interested in efforts being made to get home, so for those with strong stomachs and a high tolerance for her flavor of bullshit, it'll be possible to work with her - but she's still volatile at best, even with allies.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: Feel free to have your character spot her wandering the city (she sometimes uses public transportation, but mostly she just walks), carrying her belongings in a ratty duffle that doubles as a sleeping bag holder. She also has a titanium bat, because so far everyone has been smart enough not to give her access to swords/knives. She generally tucks herself into out-of-the-way alleys for the night, but rests, eats, etc. in more public places during the day.
OVERALL GOALS: ICly, she wants to go home so she can continue her prolonged and obsessive quest for vengeance against the woman she's earmarked as her rival (said rival is less than thrilled about this earmarking and just wants her to go away); it's literally all that keeps her going and is what she's built her entire life around, and she feels that without it she has nothing. OOCly, I don't really have any concrete plans yet; I'm just here to delve into her fucked-up psychology because I find it facinating.

PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: Don’t really have a concrete plan as of yet, but I’m thinking Wade’s gonna be a repeat victor who’s garnered a lot of praise from the ruling class and a lot of ire from the rest of the populace because he just. Won’t. Die. I’m open to him rubbing shoulders with all sorts of individuals, so feel free to hit me up if you want!
AREAS OF INTEREST: Building up CR, quick and witty banter, and plot-- whether CR-related plot or otherwise. Just gimme those good good character relations.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: Wade’s pretty much got a steady shift at Red Wings, so if your character either works there or frequents there as a customer, odds are he’s caught sight of you more than once.
OVERALL GOALS: More CR! More metaplot to get involved in! More shenanigans! More opportunities to be a disaster!

SUMMARY OF LAST MONTH: Went to Beijing with the intention of scamming Riverstone until Dean talked him out of it and they went sight-seeing instead. Began collecting a jungle of plants from work and has made a woodlands of the Winchester apartment. Sammy has occurred and they've been catching him up. Working with Lexa to get civilian/newbie combat training classes going, and they've set up evacuation routes and emergency meeting places in case of another city-wide disaster, utilizing the tunnels made by the mole monsters. Dean posted the bestiary the two of them worked on a bit ago.
PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: AU TIME. Cas is going to be a newly inducted Ruling Class working as an assistant to Sam Winchester in arena designing, where he's going to take some insider arena info and try to take it to the rebels (and also meet dean and be a lil gay). Stephen's then going to catch both Cas and Dean, and they'll end up in the arena together.
AREAS OF INTEREST: Monster hunting, divinity/religion especially Judaism/Christianity, supernatural stuff, monster fighting, philosophical and spiritual talks, talking through past traumas, will adopt kiddos that need looking after, pls meet his new daughter, Ellie, and his grown son, Gene. Obscure trivia and botany facts?? He's an Angel of the Lord, or was, before Mlark, and dude is eons old, so gimme old as balls people too. Trench coats. Idk, hit me, we'll figure out a way to get CR going o7
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: Cas works regularly at the Sunpeak Botanical Gardens and can be found there during the day, then likely found around Red Wings at night because he's attached to Dean Winchester at the everything, regularly strolls around the scenic and nature-covered parts of the city and takes pictures of urban birds (he 100% joined the local bird watchers club like a nerd), takes trains/non-airborne public transit most often. He's usually always around Red Wings on new arrival night, so it's fair to assume Cas got your person a drink or some food or clothes. Generally a pretty helpful dude, unless you're purposefully being an asshat to him.
OVERALL GOALS: Monster hunting/investigation, looking into JPG and James Henries and the mythos around the Displaced/the cult worshiping them. He'd like to take a trip to the beyul in Tibet to comb back through it and try to talk to the sherpas there. i'm mostly just kinda going with the flow, seeing what comes up naturally? hit me with ideas if you have them!

SUMMARY OF LAST MONTH: Not a ton! Furthered some CR, had Meaningful Conversations with some people and mostly kept his head down.
PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: More details will be on the upcoming plot post, but Ephemera will be a former arena participant who's now become a professional artist. Much to his displeasure, this involves going to parties. He's in need of patrons, friends, and people to bitch with about forced social engagements.
AREAS OF INTEREST: What things are you interested in or what would you like to get your character into in the future?
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: He hangs out a lot at the fight clubs and has probably eyeballed everyone who comes into Red Wings at least once.
OVERALL GOALS: More CR opportunities, positive and negative! He's got some deep friendships and connections that are going in interesting directions, but I would love to throw him at some new characters and see what happens. He'd also be interesting in finding more sparring partners, people to talk about art with, or possibly discussing power armor. He has a set of in-universe body armor that he stole from one of the mercenaries way back when, but it is not his beloved power armor.

• i'm really enjoying the cr he's making, and i'd love to keep working on what he's got and keep building more. especially interested in characters who aren't particularly close with his brother, because he needs to go out and make his own friends!!!
• if your character would sleep with him, please advise and let's make that happen, lmfao. samuel drake: open for one-night stands and potential fwb with beautiful women who are interested in him. especially if you want to deal with him not calling after, lmfao.
• if your character would NOT sleep with him but would flirt endlessly with him, please also advise. generally only interested in flirting with women, flirting with men would require longterm cr goals, lmao.
• i love: arguments, interpersonal drama, complicated CR, tension (positive or negative) in what would otherwise be mundane settings, and the occasional bit of actiony nonsense. i am less your best bet for curtain-shopping levels of slice of life.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: sam works at a casino, bums around red wings and a variety of other bars, and lives in the same apartment as nathan drake and wade wilson. beyond that, it's reasonable to have seen/encountered him on the underground fighting circuit, in the red-light district, wandering around rooftops, climbing buildings, fucking around on the network, and anywhere a party's happening. if you want to handwave any of these possibilities, please just lmk first.
OVERALL GOALS: icly: get laid, get rich, get a good night's sleep. oocly: continue the slow, prodding journey of making sam mature a little.

JOB: He STILL doesn't actually have one, but he's been making rent and spending money by destroying people in poker at the casino Nate works at.
SUMMARY OF LAST MONTH: He worked on some projects, chased some leads, had a dreamscape log, and generally got into a bunch of stuff as usual. My recently and importantly, he and Jack made a post about a connection between Johann Grey and James Henries. He also got into a bunch of personal drama.
PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: AU STUFF AWYEAH. I've done some loose planning so I have some particular things that are going to happen, but in general Lance is going to be secret police that realizes how corrupt the whole thing is and so defects to the rebels. He'll then end up playing double agent in his police position, finding out intel for the rebels, trying to keep as many people out of the arena as possible, and generally causing problems while trying not to get found out
until he inevitably does and ends up being murdered in the arena.AREAS OF INTEREST: More plot!!! Lance is very focused on solving as many mysteries as he can and getting the Displaced into a better situation in dealing with whatever might get thrown at them, and then eventually figuring out a way to get enough control of it that people can choose to stay, go home, or whatever else. So he's fixated on plot stuff and after the AU I have some idea of things to look into with that. I'm also big into slowly developing CR in natural ways, so just more of that stuff too!
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: Lance isn't usually around in many good places for this, though he can occasionally be found at Red Wings or one of the fancy casinos owned by the Riverside mob.
OVERALL GOALS: Plot! Seeing how character development and CR plays out naturally! CAUSING A RUCKUS!!!

PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: Pre-AU he's currently pretty traumatized from the whole arrival process.
In-AU I was thinking he'd have grown up with a crime ring and turned into an arena fall guy for them as a repeat participant. It's a win for him because if his job is just beating people up/killing them then he's having a pretty good time, all things considered. Could see this going a couple of different ways: he inadvertently ends up famous from being a repeat victor (he'll hate that!); he gets drawn into the rebel group via another character (which will be pretty similar to his canon experiences); he gets drawn into the ruling class (and what he does among them will probably end up bothering him quite a bit in the aftermath). I'm open to literally anything but he's definitely gonna need a push from someone else to get going outside of the whole crime ring thing.
AREAS OF INTEREST: CR!! Amos wants to be a good person but he relies on other people to point him in the right direction, he can't do it on his own. He's new in this world, he doesn't have his people anymore, and he's going to want to find a new group - preferably well-intentioned people who can guide him to do the right thing.
That said I'm also extremely open to him finding the very wrong people and having things go off the rails. Or finding other people like him who also need help and aren't sure of themselves. Everything is good.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: Well he's stuck in the safehouse for now so you know where to find him, haha. He's not likely to strike up a conversation on his own, though, but he'll still chat with anyone.
OVERALL GOALS: IC: Definitely CR. He's a lost boy and he needs friends.
OOC: This is my first ever DWRP game so just. Getting my footing in general is a pretty big priority haha. I'm open to any tips and please don't hesitate to let me know if I've messed something up or broken etiquette. I'm really looking forward to having fun with everyone here!

PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: i don't have thorough plans until the post goes up, but at the moment, i very much plan to have wanda be a member of the rebels. her reasoning behind this would be that her brother had been arrested for a minor crime and killed in the arena some years prior. whether she's a fresh recruit or a bit more experienced is still on the table, but she's definitely going to have a large fighting spirit and deep hatred for the ruling class.
AREAS OF INTEREST: being so new, i'd mostly like to focus on getting wanda's feet wet with understanding the world she's in now and beginning to develop bonds with other members of the displaced. right now, she's in a state where she's lost a lot of her old life so there's a lot of potential for her to find purpose here, which would definitely branch with the kind of relationships she can begin developing. her original canon magic was also something that had grown to be a large part of her identity so she's going to feel fairly shaken having lost it and not knowing how to access her new powers (which is prompted during a critical peak of emotions), so anyone that could help her transition, understanding what the jarring change is like would definitely help.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: since wanda will be spending a few days trapped in the safehouse, i'd love to use that chance to have her meet with other displaced. i'll potentially have an arrival log to thread some of that out, but if anyone wants to discuss handwaving meetings there and things that they might have potentially taught her either about the world or their purposes there, i'd totally be down to discuss it. she'll mostly be awkwardly quiet and keeping to herself, observing people closely, but she can still be approachable.
OVERALL GOALS: for the moment, just getting settled and having wanda begin to develop some good bonds with the others. positive and negative cr is all good, though if you'd like to go with something heavily negative, just give a heads up first.

PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: Right now all plans are up in the air but having Tony be some kind of arena designer sort that hates his life/job/does it to keep people safe/help people on the inside has some appeal.
AREAS OF INTEREST: Digging through the hows and whys of the situation, getting familiar with the tech, touching base with various groups to figure out who the big players are and what the general consensus of the displaced RE their role in things tends to be, setting up a lab space for himself, dealing with the whole 'I pretty much died and my nerves feel kind of fried from the thing that killed me' thing, making friends, missing his wife and daughter, etc. Mostly it's getting the lay of the land, meeting new people, trying to make a solid first impression if at all possible since he's a nobody here and that's as refreshing and novel as it can be frustrating.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: He's stuck in the safehouse, for the time being, adjusting to the whole 'ok this is life now' thing, pretty inquisitive and willing to pick up on the basics of this place, ask about where to get work because honestly if he doesn't have something to do he'll go out of his damn mind.
OVERALL GOALS: Plot, CR, figuring out what to do with himself since his job back home is pretty much done and inevitably, getting tangled up in the tech industry, etc.

SUMMARY OF LAST MONTH: Murphy worked out a sweet deal with Riverstone and now he's secretly doing their bidding and keeping an eye on the Displaced for them. Inadvertently providing him with an alibi, his kru explored the ruins and ran through some of the trials while everyone else was distracted with the testing. He also let slip on the network that he may or may not have a mind drive in his head, which someone might want to look into, though he would certainly rather they not.
PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: In the AU, he's going to be a ruling class bastard who will eventually be kidnapped by the rebels and possibly rescued by Thor and Homelander, but his backstory is up in the air and I'm totally open to establishing AU relationships of all sorts.
AREAS OF INTEREST: For the upcoming plot, I'd love any opportunity to do bad things. AU Murphy is a Murphy who hasn't had a redemption arc, which means he's a desperate sadist looking to flex his power over the less fortunate so he can feel big and important instead of feeling like the cowardly runt he actually is.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: Murphy lives with Clarke, Bellamy, and Lexa, so anyone who hangs around their place might run into him. He's usually in the kitchen at Red Wings, but when his shift is over, he's been known to hang around and drink for… a few hours. AU-wise, let's work something out! I'm still up in the air with him.
OVERALL GOALS: Murphy is constantly wrestling with morality and loyalty. I love putting him in positions that challenge him there. His #1 goal is to stay alive, and while he's learning to be less selfish, he makes bad decisions when he's scared. Now that he's an actual traitor to the Displaced (and about to spend the AU going full villain), I'm open to the consequences of his choices.

PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: There will be a little bit of getting used to the city again before the AU hits, and in the AU I'm going to have her as a rogue rebel with very specific motivations and destructive tendencies who probably winds up in the arena!
AREAS OF INTEREST: Laura has been here before and during her last spin in New Amsterdam she was responsible for handing Judas over to JPG, so JPG will remain a point of interest. Also generally interested in criminal activity, gods talk, and Project Meadowlark with a view to getting her stupid coin back and no longer being tossed around by the whims of other people and fate.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: Laura will be spending her first few days before everything goes AU visiting old haunts, so if your character hangs out in the fighting rings, casinos or other shadier areas of town, it's fair to assume they've seen her!
OVERALL GOALS: Dealing with the consequences of her previous actions and turning it around enough to help fix what she broke or be of use to their collective efforts to seek info in other ways. Generally I want to follow through on her canon character arc of centering herself in her story and making active, considered choices for herself and I'm interested to find out how that'll start to pan out

JOB: Currently works serving tea/coffee at an upscale cafe. She'd like to move into something else, but she's never really had to apply for jobs before so the whole thing is rather out of context.
SUMMARY OF LAST MONTH: Glimmer got started on helping to organize and prepare a warehouse for teaching self-defense and first aid to citizens of New Amsterdam, met some cool new arrivals and then offered to organize a potluck for Displaced.
PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: At the moment I plan for her to be a former participant on the celeb circuit trying to hold herself together, but it's pretty vague.
AREAS OF INTEREST: Definitely want to get her more into activism and organizational activities for her. Helping people is important to Glimmer and if she can do it, she will.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: If you have the money and taste for an upscale cafe, you can find her at work. Otherwise, you're most likely to find her at Red Wings working with Stephen Strange on organizing resources for new arrivals or just enjoying an appetizer and a drink.
OVERALL GOALS: Push Glimmer further out of her comfort zone and have her try to deal with the stuff hanging around in her head thanks to the canon point she's taken from (s5 e3 'Corridors' for those canon familiar). When she's pushed, she can start to move towards more extreme measures and ideas, and I think that might be an interesting direction to take her. She's a fighter and kind of a badass, which I don't think many people expect when they look at her.

Callisto's schtick is going to be that she'll have her real memories but will be trying to play along regardless, and I've really liked her threads with Glimmer so far; I feel like having a connection in the AU could lead to some interesting places for them post-AU!

JOB: She works at BLOK, a low key gym mostly for pros, and for Morningstar.
SUMMARY OF LAST MONTH: Hawke agreed to be one of the lab rats which caused all kinds of trouble but she lost two people she cared about and had a bit of an existential crisis over her powers. Technically this month she reported to everyone what info they got back from Riverstone, unknowingly causing a ripple effect of drama, but typical tbh.
PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: In the AU she will be one of the ruling class, old old money type, with full command over her blood magic so uh watch out for the marionette y'all. She will be leaning into her shallow side. Those are vague ideas. Will have more when we have it all out.
AREAS OF INTEREST: Hawke is getting more involved with plot things now which she was sort of avoiding before. She is pretty easy to aim in directions but intentionally refusing to take any leadership roles. I generally always want more CR.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: Hawke is VERY FRIENDLY and she's often at Red Wings. She's cheerful and cheeky and it would be immensely easy to chat with her at all times. She's fairly well known at this point as a Displaced and only vaguely pretends, but not really.
OVERALL GOALS: Bringing her out of her shell more, she's usually very good at hiding, she's extroverted so it would seem like she's not at all in hiding, but she actually is. Her real emotions and issues are all deep under the surface. her reluctance to be a leader and take any firm stances hopefully will come to a middle at some point. :)

JOB: SHE NEEDS TO FIND A JOB, nothing has really jumped out for her but at this point she's just slacking and it's sad. Someone recruit her as a bouncer or something please.
SUMMARY OF LAST MONTH: The biggest Thing that's happened for her lately is that her power's finally activated! She still doesn't know what it is, just that she started glowing while having a conversation with someone. She's extremely wary of powers in general after she found out that Hawke's was blood magic, and is kind of terrified that her own will turn out to be something equally horrific.
PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: Looking for opportunities for her power to activate again so she can start piecing together what it might be! I'll be participating in the AU as well, and thinking Cassandra may be in a kind of enforcer role, so any criminals/battle royale participants interested in conflict hit me up!
AREAS OF INTEREST: Honestly just throwing Cassandra into as many uncomfortable situations as possible (there are many), making her confront her insecurities and examine her assumptions. She has a very black and white view of the world, is very literal, and isn't the greatest at socialization, but she has a good heart and is always trying to do the right thing.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: Meet her at the bar, at the fighting pits, wandering the museums. Catch her redhanded reading terrible romance novels and never let her hear the end of it.

SUMMARY OF LAST MONTH: she'd just arrived so it was all about getting settled, finding a spot to live, trying to get her feet wet, trying to figure this place out a bit.
PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: really, she's just going to be the mom of her group (when nile's not doing that job) and making sure people get along. she wants to know what this place is and she's very curious about powers but otherwise, it'll still be a settling in month and making sure no one kills each other month.
AREAS OF INTEREST: the abilities and how and why they're chosen. how the people who gave them those know their personalities. and she's interested in how her former immortality will work here as well.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: she probably sticks close to her team mostly but you will find her out at various bars every so often, never getting drunk but having a drink. she's in the fight clubs but not fighting yet.
OVERALL GOALS: really, the goal is to dig her into the metaplot as much as i can when i find an angle. she's so much fun to write in this environment and i wanna do everything i can with her and grow her cr as much as possible.
