FEBRUARY CR MEME
Hey there gang, it looks like it's February, which is … right before March? How'd we hit March again? More Twitter jokes to be found here. Well, let's jump right into it.
◉ Right here is the February calendar. There's a little bit of aftermath from the Aerie in there, along with information about New Amsteram's new animal friends. Our calendar is a springboard for plots that people may be interested in, so feel free to grab something if it suits the character!
◉ That said, there are a few outstanding plots if people are interested! The Kestrels, which are an extremist rebel group, need some direction. There's the colonies (and spaaaaaaaace opportunities), as well as the Special Investigation Task Force. There are a few plots also in the works, most notably heading off to North America and Quentin's quest, involving picking up artifacts at the ruins.
◉ The Arrival Log is live! We've clarified a few things, so please check out the summary of events! This is also the time of the Insomniac's Ball, and the new head of the cult, Nirvana. There's a section to ask her questions, for anyone who's interested.
◉ And remember if you need to poke around, there's always The Story So Far page. CTRL + F to your heart's content.
◉ Check out our Setting Page which contains some updates to the colonies, the wildlife, as well as the AI section. That's not all inclusive, but you get the drift!
◉ If you need some fresh ideas, please feel free to take a look at the JOBS PAGE and LOCATION PAGE for inspiration. As a quick note: everyone can add and create new locations for New Amsterdam (and develop other megacities)! We'll always review them and reach out to you if any changes need to be made.

gene/@preseance is going to be helping dean out with the bar so they could meet there if that strikes your fancy. gene's a ww2 medic who's been in game for about eight months now, he's pretty laid back and tends to be good at sort of easy conversations.
joel/@texas will be doing general handyman stuff, he's a grumpy old dude who doesn't like to chat much but will grudgingly engage in conversations that other people initiate. amos' size would probably make him a bit wary, because he's from a post-apocalyptic zombie hellscape where Murder Is Common and he's used to younger men presenting themselves as a threat, so he'll probably be a bit cautious around him at first. not skittish, just — assessing his threat level.
jai/@kestrels is a 19 year old superhero with several complexes. he code switches like crazy and his 'in person' persona is a bit different than his 'online/internet' persona. he also gives out a fake name to anyone he meets 'irl' and doesn't like to let the streams cross. but he liked naomi a lot when he met her (we're still working on the thread) and he'd be cautiously willing to accept that Her People are probably not enormous assholes either. he does fight club style stuff too, bc although he's only like 5'8ish he weighs a lot more due to the gravity variance on his world so he's like 260 lbs and hits like a mac truck. it's fine.

I'd definitely love for him to meet Gene at some point! Amos actually has some idea of who he is because Ephemera brought him up in conversation when they were out of the AU so it'd be nice for him to actually get an interaction or several in there. Laid back is A++ in his books, he'll enjoy that. And yeah Dean's bar would make for an easy introduction! also I can see it being actually good for him to know a medic personally at some point rip
Joel would be fun but probably tricky because Amos is also of the "doesn't chat much, will engage if someone else initiates" variety... Though Charlie and I have been wanting to get Amos and Ellie CR at some point, it just hasn't happened yet so that might work for a lead in eventually?? They'd be really interesting too because Amos definitely presents as a threat but it's not entirely on purpose. Like he deconstructs a lot of the tropes you would expect from someone of his character archetype, but at the same time, on the surface level at least, he still carries some of those traits SO. It could definitely be really interesting! If there's ever a way to get them to talk haha but I'd put this at the lowest priority scale just because of that, if it even happens at all (you out here with three characters and me, with my one-character ass, saying "YES ABSOLUTELY" to all of them shgidkg).
I do think Jai would be the most interesting right now!! Especially because like, okay a younger guy but NOT a child Amos doesn't interact with that age group much at all, and all of the complexes and different personas would be confusing to him but whatever that's just Jai's deal he figures?? If Naomi likes him then he's probably fine even though he's kinda weird?? Also omg a mini mac truck to go with Amos' slightly taller mac truck. Like the combination of not really getting Jai + he does fight club stuff so he does understand that much is so interesting to me and would be really fun to play!!

I have a dream log up over here that I could easily co-opt for fight club shenanigans if you aren't planning on top levelling for the intro log event stuff! lmk if that suits and i'll whip up a starter.
We can tentatively do things with gene and amos down the line since i feel there'll be a lot of opportunity, and maybe not worry about joel unless a situation comes up that really catches our eye.

I'm 50/50 on if I'm gonna top level in the current log (got time to think about it/see if anything comes to mind, at least!) but I'm definitely down for kicking things off over on your log if you don't mind.Just kidding! Turns out I've got a top level, complete with fight club prompt, after all.
