FEBRUARY CR MEME
Hey there gang, it looks like it's February, which is … right before March? How'd we hit March again? More Twitter jokes to be found here. Well, let's jump right into it.
◉ Right here is the February calendar. There's a little bit of aftermath from the Aerie in there, along with information about New Amsteram's new animal friends. Our calendar is a springboard for plots that people may be interested in, so feel free to grab something if it suits the character!
◉ That said, there are a few outstanding plots if people are interested! The Kestrels, which are an extremist rebel group, need some direction. There's the colonies (and spaaaaaaaace opportunities), as well as the Special Investigation Task Force. There are a few plots also in the works, most notably heading off to North America and Quentin's quest, involving picking up artifacts at the ruins.
◉ The Arrival Log is live! We've clarified a few things, so please check out the summary of events! This is also the time of the Insomniac's Ball, and the new head of the cult, Nirvana. There's a section to ask her questions, for anyone who's interested.
◉ And remember if you need to poke around, there's always The Story So Far page. CTRL + F to your heart's content.

HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: in the aerie: maine was a snipe and a carrion. he was a celebrity for ~10 years. best known for his brutality, hedonism, and blatant love of his power.
in the real world: maine is way more low-key. that said, he's extremely large, so he's hard to miss no matter where he is. recently, he's spent time assisting at the hospital & doing manual labor as needed — helping to clear streets and such. he's worked in the red light district for ~6 months, and he spends basically all his free time at the gym. his roommates are carolina & wash.

AREAS OF INTEREST: eula is very much not into all this world-saving business so any villainous or even just less heroically-inclined characters would be fun to bounce off, HOWEVER she's not about to like make enemies straight away so forging some casual friendships with people would be nice!

PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: Trying to step back a a little and maybe take some of his own advice in regard to, you know, dealing with stuff instead of repressing it. But he's also still trying to work on solutions about the safehouse issue, is keeping track of the discussion around looking for the gods, is vaguely involved in the moon plans, will probably be getting into some stuff regarding the new task force, etc etc. Basically he's doing a little of everything, though he's trying to scale all of it back slightly for now.
AREAS OF INTEREST: He's very fixated on metaplot stuff, and assembled this mess of a document to log what information is known IC along with links to conversations for context. Some of the mysteries have now been solved, but there's a lot of weird stuff that's worth following up on or might tie into other things going on. Lance is also focused on the wellbeing of people in general, so he's been recently trying to figure out how to make the arrival process less traumatic for new people.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: He was around the city and Red Wings a lot early on in the Aerie aftermath, but in the last week or so IC he's probably be hard to find.
OVERALL GOALS: Keep going with current stuff and see whatever happens!

AREAS OF INTEREST: i would like to force fenris into situations where he has to work with others, which isn't too hard honestly, because if he sees it as necessity he will give in. he pretends it's more unlikely than it actually is because he's a moron pretending like he doesn't care. basically i just want more cr for him which so far is going GREAT but i'd like to keep an eye open for more opportunities! he also just learned that he's been here before but with no memory of this he'll be interested in trying to see if he can remember. this won't work, but it's a good way to get him out there doing things, seeing if memories will trigger by talking to people or going to places idk.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: fenris is going to be where the newbies come in because he's pissed off about how that whole thing works, so if any newbies need someone who went through this last month to bitch about the whole ordeal with, or to give them a very blunt and direct lowdown, fen here is ur guy. he might be seen repeatedly checking in the safehouse over the course of the four days as well.
OVERALL GOALS: stuff that will keep fenris busy enough that i don't have to worry about him losing his goddamn mind not making any progress in getting home, but not so busy that i can't enjoy throwing him at the setting and getting up to random shit. from his canon point his whole thing is protecting the disadvantaged and helpless from power hungry assholes so...finding something that fenris can do here that's very similar would be awesome! also just CR driven shit...that's the main thing i'm looking for!

PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: Keeping up with her CR and investing in new relationships! She's involved in both the North America trip and recovering some relics, and trying very hard not to feel too many feelings about Joel being here.
AREAS OF INTEREST: CR is my bread and butter. Ellie herself is an apocalypse survivor who is super used to violence and has committed more than her fair share of it, so she'll take most things in stride. She loves puns, video games, art, music, and is a giant space nerd who is determined to visit the moon at some point.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: Ellie regularly makes appearances at Red Wings, her own workplace, and eventually Dean's bar. She'll also rock into the safehouse now and again to make herself available for the newbies; she remembers how shitty it was.

PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: I don't have any plans for him yet other than those job-related ones and I think he's going to wind up being Ronan and Adam's scrappy stray cat. His first week here is going to be Rough because he's just come from an attempt to kill himself and he'll be going through the initial stage of withdrawal, so anyone willing to help him.. deal with that, I guess. I'm happy to play some of it out or just handwave it, too!
AREAS OF INTEREST: Definitely in the criminal element of the city, and like.. people who can.. put up with him. He does NOT do well on his own like at all, so he generally tries to surround himself with people and doesn't care what kind or why they're there.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: Open to ideas here-- he's going to be hard to miss because he'll be a Disaster at least that first week. Helping him out is a possibility, as is like.. beating him up, I guess. He kinda' deserves at least one good punch.
OVERALL GOALS: Ultimately, I do want him to do some growing/healing as a person, and that's going to take some work, so. Otherwise I'm still developing ideas about where I want to take him.

JOB: Harley isn't looking for gainful employment so much as she'll be keeping her ear to the ground and maybe seeing where she can apply her rather unique set of skills, but she's not opposed to getting involved with some particularly unsavory characters if anyone has an in for her on something a little... seedier. (Right now, she might be looking for an in at the Buzzed Outlaw Club, since that caters more to the slightly sketchier crowd.)
PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: My number one goal for this one is really just continuing to let her meet people and hang out with whoever she can. I have no in-depth wishes apart from wanting her to have as much CR as possible and she's relatively easy to throw at anyone because she has no concept of boundaries and will gladly dominate any conversation over a more taciturn type. Come clubbing with her! Accompany her on a shopping trip! Let her talk you into some bad decisions!
Additionally: give her a chance to show off her powers at some point. I haven't had a thread to activate either of them in a thread yet, so I'd love the opportunity if anyone wants Harley to leech some "madness" energy off of them or use her fists to punch through something.
AREAS OF INTEREST: I'm really into the idea of diverse and varied CR as a player — the wider, the better. This is a character who's prone to negative CR for sure if you don't mind that, but she also manages to endear herself to other people in the same vein so it really depends on how they gel together. A few specifics I'd love to explore in-game in terms of CR types to bounce her off of: fellow criminals, fellow slightly reformed criminals, bad boys and girls, people who want an enabler to show them how to loosen up and have a good time, people who want to see if they can catch her in a more vulnerable moment, people she can try to wear down with her sparkling personality and/or shameless flirting, folks who might be interested in being psychoanalyzed at random, more hero types, more non-humans! You name it, I probably want it.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: She's very forward and won't hesitate to approach anyone, so we can always skip intros there or just assume she's already at least semi-annoyed your character by her mere nature.
OVERALL GOALS: Plot! Come at me! I am genuinely open to whatever and really just operate under the philosophy of "let's smash these two internet barbies together and see what happens" most of the time.

And definitely not abandoning fight club, he's still about that, sometimes it's good for a release okay the potential for extra cash is just a really nice bonus is all.
PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: Deepening his current CR and expanding it with more characters! He's got a small circle going but more is always good. Interested in both positive and negative.
AREAS OF INTEREST: I'm broadly into the whole powers stuff (guy's still gotta figure out what his gold one is, he's gonna hate it, and if you're down for something more negative-leaning hit me up on that front), and potentially stuff regarding the task force since he was publicly a Shrike in the Aerie (though he was definitely not about joining up, he's trying to avoid being that person, thank you very much... but he'd know exactly how they operate). Also also I'd like to get him involved in space-related plots too since I mean. You know. His canon. It's in space.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES:
- Red Wings, sometimes, or any other bar really
- if you're also helping with Dean's bar then hey, temporary co-worker!
- or probably more open to the general repairs still going on around town. he was very useless on that front earlier but is actually trying now
- he is not at all shy about the fact that in his world he's spent the past couple of decades living and working in space. come hit him up, you space nerds, he knows all about repairing and maintaining spaceships and the like and has definitely mentioned this to some people
- he'll be more receptive if he knows you have positive CR with Naomi. the inverse is also true
OVERALL GOALS: Meaningful CR is my entire jam. I also wanna slowly start pushing him to get involved in plot stuff. ... Or rather, have him get pushed, since he kinda needs that, but that's where the meaningful CR comes into play so. I love an intersection.

gene/@preseance is going to be helping dean out with the bar so they could meet there if that strikes your fancy. gene's a ww2 medic who's been in game for about eight months now, he's pretty laid back and tends to be good at sort of easy conversations.
joel/@texas will be doing general handyman stuff, he's a grumpy old dude who doesn't like to chat much but will grudgingly engage in conversations that other people initiate. amos' size would probably make him a bit wary, because he's from a post-apocalyptic zombie hellscape where Murder Is Common and he's used to younger men presenting themselves as a threat, so he'll probably be a bit cautious around him at first. not skittish, just — assessing his threat level.
jai/@kestrels is a 19 year old superhero with several complexes. he code switches like crazy and his 'in person' persona is a bit different than his 'online/internet' persona. he also gives out a fake name to anyone he meets 'irl' and doesn't like to let the streams cross. but he liked naomi a lot when he met her (we're still working on the thread) and he'd be cautiously willing to accept that Her People are probably not enormous assholes either. he does fight club style stuff too, bc although he's only like 5'8ish he weighs a lot more due to the gravity variance on his world so he's like 260 lbs and hits like a mac truck. it's fine.

JOB: For his "cover" and a steady income so that he can afford a few necessary items, Simon will probably work retail at whatever Gamestop/Hot Topic/Dungeons and Dragons type equivalent New Amsterdam offers. At night or on his off time he will probably get involved in whatever shady thing that will allow him to damage property and do crime. He's... Also easily impressionable so joining a cult is not off the table. He is one of two leaders of a cult of children back "home."
PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: This is not the first time that Simon has been ripped from a place he called home and put into a different world entirely, but you can bet that he is not processing any of it very well. Because of his trauma centering around his first few months on the Infinity Train and being abandoned by the first "person" (train denizen) he trusted, Simon is not going to trust anyone to avoid making the same mistake again. That being said, once he has his initial mental breakdown he will absolutely be playing fake nice to gain intel on the others who are in a similar situation, and be determined to enhance his powers and "climb the ranks" if he perceives that there are any. Trauma and history of train person murder aside, Simon is capable of having fun and being a normal teen! If he trusts the team enough, he may fall in line in due time.
AREAS OF INTEREST: There are quite a few!
-Simon is desperately in need of a parent/good adult role model, as he is clearly a traumatized young person who has lacked guidance and care for around a decade. HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: um he might just beat up an npc or a random person in town and steal their clothes so, if anyone wants to witness a crime and someone getting away i... yeah idk. OVERALL GOALS: The goal is to give simon a second chance and have him improve as a person, however difficult that may be... he could also go full supervillain in his second month here, time will only tell.

AREAS OF INTEREST: I'd like Glimmer to get involved in helping others in some way. She may get involved with the Kestrels if she finds them justified or work towards independence for the colonies.

PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: Just playing things by ear! She broke her arm last month, and with the accelerrated healing on this world she'll prooooobably be getting the cast off this month? There's a decent chance of her just breaking it off herself tbh.
AREAS OF INTEREST: OH BOY EVERYTHING. She's a BCE gal suddenly finding herself in a 26th century world, so very many things are unfamiliar to her, and that's a trope I love to play around with. She's violent, has a strong penchant for cruelty, and is prone to explosive outbursts and meltdowns, so if anyone wants to deal with that in any form hmu. She has discovered that she likes using the empathy bond to make other people feel her own pain and anger, but hates when it makes her feel other people's nice and pleasant feelings instead. She's also fairly interested in efforts being made to get home, so for those with strong stomachs and a high tolerance for her flavor of bullshit, it'll be possible to work with her - but she's still volatile at best, even with allies. As mentioned above, she also currently has a broken arm. This will do very little to lessen her willingness to throw down.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: Feel free to have your character spot her wandering the city (she sometimes uses public transportation, but mostly she just walks), carrying her belongings in a ratty duffle that doubles as a sleeping bag holder. She also has a titanium bat and a sword. She generally tucks herself into out-of-the-way alleys for the night, but rests, eats, etc. in more public places during the day. She's
homelessnomadic, tyvm, and while she might eventually nab one of the teeny pod apartments, it's not a big priority for her right now.OVERALL GOALS: ICly, she wants to go home so she can continue her prolonged and obsessive quest for vengeance against the woman she's earmarked as her rival (said rival is less than thrilled about this earmarking and just wants her to go away); it's literally all that keeps her going and is what she's built her entire life around, and she feels that without it she has nothing. OOCly, I don't really have any concrete plans yet; I'm just here to delve into her fucked-up psychology because I find it fascinating.
