It's October and that means it's time for some spoopy stuff. Hope you like some groovy electro swing!

So, here we go!

◉ Here's the October calendar, which provides a quick rundown of the month.

◉ The Arrival Log will be going up tomorrow! It's going to involve a cybernetic modifications festival that's held in the underground tunnel part of New Amsterdam, as a call back to the third arrival log from way back when! It will, of course, also be the means of welcoming newbies. In addition, keep in mind that the safehouses still aren't in good enough shape to house anyone, so this group of newbies will need some help with where to sleep.

◉ On October 14th there will be a plotting post for the mini-event that was triggered by Riverstone making contact about performing tests on the Displaced, as discussed here and here. The log for this mini-event will go up on October 17th!

◉ For a rundown of everything that's happened so far in game, check out our The Story So Far page. This guy is your big ctrl+f friend. It hasn't been updated with the 25th arrival log, but that'll be done soon!

◉ Check out our Setting Page for any ideas you might need about the world at large!

◉ We also recommend that you look over our JOBS PAGE and LOCATION PAGE to get the brain moving. As a quick note: everyone can add and create new locations for New Amsterdam (and develop other megacities)! We'll always review them and reach out to you if any changes need to be made.

JOB: No job yet and her main work experience is in things that ain't super legal out here. Ellie's an apocalypse survivor who is good at shooting, knifing and making explosives out of shit she finds in garages. She's an artist in a world with no paper, a guitarist missing fingers, and she will absolutely be fired from her first fast food shift. Please help.
SUMMARY OF LAST MONTH: Both Ellie and I are brand spankin' new.
PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: Lurking moar, putting out feelers and hitting that learning curve with technology. Ellie is mainly on the lookout for organizations and people that are 1. Mostly Not Evil, 2. Will help her find her bearings, and 3. Will laugh at her puns. I'm leaning towards her going on the Riverstone trip and learning all she can about what's going on, and potentially opening a couple of cans of worms.
AREAS OF INTEREST: I love plot engagement but my bread and butter is CR. I'd sincerely love for Ellie to meet people, build a network of friendships, working partnerships and people to trust. And not trust. And throw hands with/alongside.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: Ellie's power is invisibility and this first month she's gonna be working on it. She'll use it mainly to keep herself safe, but there are always ways she could overhear something she didn't mean to hear, fail a stealth check, or get caught. She'll also be interested in anything to do with music, technology, weaponry, prosthetics and this world's pop culture and SPACE TRAVEL y'all she is such a fucking space nerd. Please.
OVERALL GOALS: Finding Ellie a therapist.To get involved in the plot, figure out what the fuck is going on here, and try to find Ellie something to really believe in, whether it's a person or a movement.

She's a good, when she remembers to be. She grapples a lot with how to show affection, but if he's good to her, he'll get it back in spades.

I'm deeply amused by this because Ellie's invisibility only works when she's holding her breath right now, so it's completely possible that the baseball cap works better than her actual powers

So we already have a thread going, but I need to tell you that I am loving it. Glimmer is all about helping people and I would love to see her CR with Ellie develop more.

She's also quick to adopt people she likes as new friends and is pretty good at listening to other people's problems.

Glimmer may have to work on Ellie quite a bit (Houston, she has so many problems) but I could see her opening up eventually.

Weirdly she's used to that part because one of her best friends is a former child soldier who thinks she needs to sacrifice herself to be worth anything to anyone.

Glimmer also has issues, though not quite as brutal as Ellie's I imagine. I look forward to what happens with these two.

Yeah, Ellie is... also that person, and that went super badly for her, and then she went on a horrifying revenge quest that also went super badly for everybody involved, so she's clawing her way back from accidentally becoming the villain of another story. Whoops.

Ellie's also a good listener! And very much prefers helping where she's able, when she isn't hampered by her own rusty social skills.
