The "Never Have I Ever" Meme

Never Have I Ever, for those of you haven't heard of it, is a classic drinking game. Individuals take turns stating something they've never done, and everyone who has done it takes a drink. And then embarrassment and teasing and general fun is had by all.

HOW THIS WORKS

✔ Post with your character. This is your thread for as many 'Never have I ever' statements you'd like to make!
✔ Under your own thread, reply to yourself ICly with a statement of something your character has never done.
✔ Post as many 'nevers' as you like, but each 'never' should be it's own comment string, under your character's thread.
✔ Other characters reply to whichever 'nevers' they like, drinking or not drinking as appropriate.
✔ Optional rule: If you drink, you have to explain the situation in which the 'never' occurred!
✔ Another optional rule: Forced honestly is okay, if you have a character that wouldn't talk/share anything.
✔ Threadjacking is encouraged! Particularly if it's to make fun of someone for their answer/drinking.
✔ HAVE FUN PEOPLE

[Natasha is just going to go ahead and take a sip of her whiskey.]

Not one for each time, right? Just one for the fact that I have?

Up to you. I'm not a moderatin' influence.

[The quirk of Natasha's mouth has a certain fondness to it as she takes another sip for good measure.]

Not planning on starting this off at a disadvantage just because you won't do your civic duty.

[deadthenred]

Not won't. [ A pause. ] I could've voted in '44 if the voting age were eighteen, back then.

Now I'm a convicted felon.

[bornrussian]

[Well, now she feels bad. She makes a face and takes another sip in apology.]

Never have I ever lost a limb.

[deadthenred]

[ Well, he has to drink to that one, doesn't he? ]

That's a cheap shot, y'know.

[bornrussian]

[Yeah, he does. Natasha is just going to shoot him an unapologetic look across the table.]

You gotta do what you gotta do to win sometimes.

[deadthenred]

[ This is tricky. He knows his Natasha well, but not what parts of that might apply. ]

I've never been married.

[bornrussian]

[Natasha rolls her palm over the top of the glass, but doesn't pick it up from the table.]

I've never been in a meaningful, romantic relationship that lasted longer than a year.

[deadthenred]

[ But he has to drink for that, too. He's still glad he didn't say, "I've never slept with Clint Barton." ]

There was a girl I carried a torch for, during the war.

[ To be fair, he didn't spend much more than a week in her company. But he carried the torch a lot longer. And that felt meaningful to him at the time. ]

[bornrussian]

[The answer might have surprised him. Depending on how Natasha would've parsed the semantics.

The couple of mouthfuls of whiskey that Natasha has already had are spreading their gentle warmth through her chest, and her smiles keep coming easier.]

Yeah? I would've thought your version of me-- But maybe you two didn't last that long? [That would certainly feel more familiar to her than the idea of long-lasting relationship.

She's not built for one of those.]

[deadthenred]

No. We were together… it was about two years, the last time.

[ He wasn't mentioning that because it was awkward. ]

[bornrussian]

[She can't help but be desperately curious about this woman who shares her name -- mostly -- and yet seems better built.]

The last time?

[deadthenred]

We had about a month, in the Red Room. But we couldn't really be together, then.

[ All of that time was stolen. He takes another sip of his drink, unbidden. ]

[bornrussian]

You were together in the Red Room?

[What would it have changed? Having an ally in there?]

[deadthenred]

We were both punished for that one.

[ He couldn't protect her, she couldn't protect him. It ended miserable, just like everything else he got mixed up in. ]

[bornrussian]

They were good at punishment.

[If this other her cared about him then, that must've made it worse. He would've been a chink in her armor.

Natasha's jaw tightens and she shakes her head.]

We're deviating from the game. Come on. It's your turn.

[deadthenred]

[ He doesn't say anything, not to that, but his mouth twists in acknowledgment. They were good at punishing.

He's happy enough to change the subject. ]

I never led the Avengers.

[ This is something else Natasha did in his universe. ]

[bornrussian]

[An arch of an eyebrow, and Natasha's fingers skate the rim of the glass. Did she lead the Avengers? Or was she just pulling along a group of tired and worn individuals because there was no other choice?

Her fingertips leave the glass, and she leans back in her seat.]

I never fought in a world war.

[Another easy one. Like the arm. Obvious.]

[deadthenred]

[ He does have to drink again, and he looks at her while she does. ]

Next you're gonna say you were never Captain America.

[ Something else that's a given. Bucky isn't sure if she's playing to win or letting him off easy. ]

[bornrussian]

[It's a quick thing, the way her mouth folds to the shape of the first sound of what? and her eyebrows twitch in a question so obvious it's clear it's played out purposefully on her face. Not faking it, exactly, more electing to express it openly.

It's a flicker across her face, before it smooths out and shifts into a smile right as she answers her own question.]

You were Captain America. How did that happen?

[Don't worry. Natasha only ever plays to win.]

[deadthenred]

Well, when an idiot loves his country very much…

[ How did it happen? He doesn't know how to answer that question. He doesn't have a neat and tidy secret origin, those were always made up for the papers. ]

Steve was killed.

[ Maybe that's what she meant. ]

[bornrussian]

[Natasha's smile fades quickly, and she looks down at her glass. Her thumb rubs across the rim of it.

Perhaps Bucky and Steve weren't as close in his universe as in hers. It's still a blow. Losing Steve Rogers. She knows what that feels like.]

Maybe we should stop playing. Not like we lack reason to drink.

[deadthenred]

[ Bucky shakes his head. ]

He came back. [ Bucky doesn't drink there, but part of him feels like he oughta. ] We got him back.

[ He certainly didn't mean to make her feel sorry for the asking.

God, if only that were the worst of it. ]

[bornrussian]

[Bucky might not drink, but Natasha does. She polishes off the last of her drink and reaches for the bottle to pour out another.]

That's good. [There's still every possibility that they might get her Steve back too. Except hope is expensive, and Natasha's spent too much on it already. She's kinda going broke here.]

C'mon. Your turn. Let's see how like Her I am.
