FEBRUARY CR MEME
Happy February, Larkers, and happy Valentine's Day! 🥰 We wanted to give a quick rundown to players new and old, especially since we set up a lot of directions for player plots for the next while! We expect that these will be running for a good bit of time.
So, here we go! A rundown on where to start with plotting:
◉ Our big catchup tool is our The Story So far page! No one needs to have this memorized, and hopefully our phrasing makes it easier to CTRL+F exactly what you need! The bullet points should cover the big meat, and it's up to you if you want to click to read further on anything.
◉ Check out our Setting Page for any ideas you might need about the world at large!
◉ We also recommend that you check out our JOBS PAGE and LOCATION PAGE to get the brain moving. As a quick note: everyone can add and create new locations for New Amsterdam (and, eventually, develop other megacities)! We'll always review them and reach out to you if any changes need to be made.
◉ Our monthly calendars are also a place where we do minimal worldbuilding, and it's where the mods leave monthly messages to our playerbase.
◉ The arrival log will be tomorrow! We're still solidifying some of the basics around it, but it's a smaller batch of newbies so it'll be less involved overall. We're using it as a means of creating some pop culture for the world, so keep an eye out for that!
◉ Remember that mention of player plots a few bullet points ago? We opened up fast travel to offer a lot of new threading opportunities, and we have a lot of artifacts and relics available. Newcomers can also get their hands on some relics, too—so feel free to ask around if this is (or even isn't!) their jam. Read the rundown here on our aftermath post!
◈ As a note, we've applied a little change to the relics so that they will eventually begin to resonate with the Displaced, and the relics will glow with one of seven colors: red, gold, blue, indigo, black (it'll turn glossy and obsidian), white, or orange. This will occur after holding on to the relic for 1 IC month.
◉ You'll notice that there's a section on the aftermath post called Looking Forward. We would like players to declare interest on what direction they'd like to take, but plotting and how to pursue it should begin to take place here and on the Plot Engagement post. Get those juices flowing!
◉ We also have a charity auction going up at the end of the month! Jenna, our Caroline Forbes (gasping) player, will be putting it up. The big playable section will be a dating auction! We've also worked with Jenna to pepper in some NPCs to help expand on some information. An OOC plotting post should be going up about this before the event so that everyone can get involved.
◉ Finally, since this is new information: the mods will be scarce the final weekend of the month! Only Court will be around. 💦 We're going to try to set up the calendar before we're all gone, but this is a head's up that things might be a little delayed while Alison, Veronica, and Jenny are off at a con! We'll get everything setup as soon as possible early in the month of March.

POWER: density manipulation, including small objects/spaces around herself & the ability to decrease the density of her own body
JOB: nill currently works at the red wings bar as a line cook! but she also does courier work occasionally and brokers information when she comes across something juicy.
SUMMARY OF LAST MONTH: nill was planning to go to new oslo, but got kidnapped to new cairo and was subsequently poisoned by tainted food. she suffered nausea, vertigo, and just generally having a Bad Time, but recovered and helped activate the gate! she also nabbed 2 artifacts: a small figure of a woman who appeared to have a blue glow in her chest and a little pendant with a bird on it.
PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: nill is going to spend the month recovering and will check out the music festival! otherwise, she's going to make it a chill couple weeks and just try to relax.
AREAS OF INTEREST: nill likes to help people, despite the part of herself that spent 2+ years learning how to care for just herself. she regularly drops by the safehouse to drop off food and supplies for new arrivals, and can be found all around the city when she does courier work. she's always up for learning new skills (of any kind!) and just being a dumb teenager in general, which is a part of her relatively short life she has yet to live.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: introductions at the safehouse, at various markets and restaurants around NA, visiting other cities once they figure out how to work the gates, brokering generally benign information (affairs, who is allergic to what, etc.).
OVERALL GOALS: nill is slowly getting back her self-confidence after having it shot down in various ways, and tbh getting kidnapped to new cairo and not dying actually helped with that. she's going to make an effort to step out of her comfort zone and explore the new cities they have access to, and try to meet some new people.
