SEPTEMBER CR MEME
Let's link "September" by Earth, Wind, and Fire because we could all use some of that, huh? Welcome to September, friends. Hope you're doing okay.
So, here we go!

PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: he'll be inadvertently tipping over a casino while listening for hints of mob activity with his bro! beyond that, i'm still feeling things out.
AREAS OF INTEREST: i love complicated CR, interpersonal drama, arguments, dynamic conversations, dramatic irony, &cet. i can do action and more kinetically focused stuff--it's sam, lbr, he has Energy--but talky stuff is my real forte, as long as there's something going on to provide tension or forward motion.
sam tends to be fun with scrappy kids, fellow Questionable Criminal Sorts, women he can hit on, men of a certain age...and i'm interested in trying most any CR and seeing if it sticks.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: he's probably been doing a fair amount of wandering around like the bum he is, running up a tab at red wings, possibly popping into a coffee shop to test the local wares
and then bitch about them. if you're a pretty woman who looks 20+, he probably flirted with you. if you flirted back, he might've slept with you. HE'S ALSO LOOKING FOR ANYTHING LIKE A CIGARETTE OR VAPE PLEASE ASSIST.OVERALL GOALS: still settling in! i'd like him to start to build relationships that might eventually lead to him confiding in somebody else, because HOLY SHIT DOES THIS MAN NEED A FRIEND. specifically a friend who is not his brother.

SUMMARY OF LAST MONTH: Getting fucked up by monsters for great justice. Trying to be a hero sucks ass. He figured out his powers, though! That's a plus, right?
PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: Crimes? Shenanigans? Finding a way to bring Bea Arthur back from the dead? I got nothin'. Open to suggestions, though!
AREAS OF INTEREST: Building up CR, quick and witty banter, and plot-- whether CR-related plot or otherwise. Just gimme those good good character relations.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: Wade’s pretty much got a steady shift at Red Wings, so if your character either works there or frequents there as a customer, odds are he’s caught sight of you more than once.
OVERALL GOALS: Getting a dedicated circle of friends is my main goal for Wade, but I’d also like for him to actually grow to be less of an unmitigated disaster fire. He can still be a little bit of a disaster fire, though. As a treat.

POWER: Blood manipulation/blood bending.
JOB: She used to be in the fighting rings a lot but Hawke has newly joined Morningstar. She's feeling very good about it! She still is available for training people on combat and trains at the BLOK gym.
SUMMARY OF LAST MONTH: A whole lot of monster fighting! Showcasing her powers and getting confronted on it by Cassandra which was no bueno! Eventually deciding to join Morningstar!
PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: It'll be nice to give herself five minutes to chill. She'll be enjoying some of the new plot. Morningstar stuff hopefully and just depending some CR. If they're already friends and you want more come at me!
AREAS OF INTEREST: Now that Hawke is fully invested in this city and in protecting it, and joined Morningstar, she may be a little more engaged than she was while drinking and making snarky remarks from the bar or ring. Not sure what she'll want to get involved in but it'll happen! She also is trying to deal with her powers and with subtly learning how to use them without letting her roommates know. :) So wise, that won't bite you later Hawke.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: Hawke you could've easily fought beside during the event, she's a power house and was non-stop. She's also a regular at the ring and popular, and she's extremely friendly at Red Wings or anywhere else. Really she's easy to talk to and warm, so you can assume anything you want of them having met before.
OVERALL GOALS: Dealing with powers, dealing with being a more active part of the fight, etc.

POWER: Reflection Manipulation
JOB: Quentin works at Red Wings and he's going to be spending a lot of his time now helping Marcos open the soup kitchen.
SUMMARY OF LAST MONTH: Quentin went through a lot during the event but he came out of it feeling stronger too. Like he survived! Through a lot! He also helped update the newbie guide with a lot of details. He got his friends Penny and Margo which means a lot to him, and lost some others too.
PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: Now that Quentin's focusing on helping out the city/civilians, he'll be working with Marcos on that and he's a team player so if anyone has some community-based projects they're doing, he's more than happy to help out. I'm giving him a little R&R too. He'll be training in his new power upgrades a lot too, he's not someone who wastes energy when he can. He also will probably ask questions of the shrine makers soon. >.>
AREAS OF INTEREST: Community-based help with newcomers, with civilians, with plans. He also is still very interested in all the mysteries don't you worry none, nothing will stop him from being obsessed with answers.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: You could've met him during the fight or at Red Wings, he's friendly and sweet-tempered if very awkward!
OVERALL GOALS: Everything already mentioned!

POWER: Pyrokinesis
JOB: She works at Red Wings doing whatever Clarke asks her to do and she's recently agreed to join Damian's training group and also vigilanate team! Maybe!
SUMMARY OF LAST MONTH: Lexa recovered really easily from the monster attack because fighting is what she does best. There was some Hundie drama. She's concerned about the safety of the city and the people in it (especially because she wants to bring her people here some day) so it was on her mind before Damian's post.
PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: Lexa will hopefully be getting involved in that stuff more often and training whoever wants! I'd love people who want their characters to learn how to fight to take up her offer, she's a good teacher I promise. She's going to offer this for civilians and people in the Displaced. :) She's also learning how to shoot guns which she frankly hates.
AREAS OF INTEREST: Making the city safer for her potential people one punch at a time. Maybe? making? friends? She's not sure what that is. ;)
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: Handwaved opportunities are a little harder with her because she's quiet and does her own thing. But people can have seen her around being unusually calm and can assume she already offered them training.
OVERALL GOALS: Training! Deepening CR! Making new CR!

JOB: Currently a construction worker on the rebuilding projects around New Amst. Volunteers with PRESERVE.
SUMMARY OF LAST MONTH: All of the above job stuff. He inquired around PRESERVE about disaster planning efforts + self-defense for the public regarding monster attacks, and got told that because their funding comes from the UN who is afraid of uprisings they can't risk anything involved with teaching people how to fight which... if he had a bad opinion of the UN before, it's definitely in the shitter now! He's also offered to help with Marcos soup kitchen/safehouse plans.
PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: More work, more volunteering.
AREAS OF INTEREST: There's been a lot of IC discussion about prepping for the next attacks, and he's down for assisting anyone with plans. He's only been in game for... a month? so his clout is limited but he can offer a body for physical work and stuff. He can also help teach any individuals self-defense, if interested. Otherwise just looking for new CR/connecting with current CR.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: Anything involved with PRESERVE, otherwise he's kind of a homebody when he's not working. Any current CR HMU, can figure something out!
OVERALL GOALS: FIGURING OUT HIS PLACE IN THIS WORLD etc etc. He's also been very concerned about the Displaced's connection to these mass events and how they can do better for the general public (hence the interest in disaster prep + prophetic dreams they sometimes get)
ANYTHING ELSE: OOCly I'm in the Pacific Northwest where we are currently being choked by fire smoke, so I'm pretty slow rn!

AREAS OF INTEREST: I'm an astrophysics grad student so I spend a lot of time crying about school, but I also rock climb, play video games, do some low-level music production, make graphics/crafts, etc etc. My plurk usually has self-contained contained rp and rl/misc plurks on it for easy muting.

POWER: Sound/pressure wave manipulation; right now he can just make single tone noises that are usually very annoying. Good for deafening monsters though.
JOB: Still none, like a freeloader. But he's going to be helping Nate and some others with a casino adventure and score himself a decent amount of money, so he can put off the job thing for another month or two. I'm definitely open to any suggestions/plotting on this front.
SUMMARY OF LAST MONTH: Finished up with the monster fighting stuff, had some serious conversations with people, and then had an absolutely disastrous post. So now that he's annoyed a bunch of people, he's truly off to his usual start in a new place.
PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: Now he's just even more invested in figuring things out, and will be trying to make plans and then take action to look into some outstanding mysteries. He's also trying to compile information that has been acquired over time, which involves carefully reading through old posts and is taking awhile both ic and ooc, but hopefully might result in a useful hub of info. There's also the job issue; he needs to work on that even though he has about a million hangups as to why he hasn't yet.
AREAS OF INTEREST: Metaplot is both an ic and ooc interest, so definitely that, but also Lance is interested in helping out with other Displaced's projects, concern, etc. He's very hesitant about Morningstar (see above disastrous post) but there might potentially be ways to be tangentially involved in some stuff there and I'm interested in that too.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: Not a huge amount at the moment honestly; he's been keeping to himself a lot. He's occasionally at Red Wings, especially if Nate's working because he has to annoy him.
OVERALL GOALS: More CR! More getting involved in the metaplot! More Lance being a disaster and accidentally causing problems because that's what he does!!!

SUMMARY OF LAST MONTH: Mostly quiet. Trying to keep Adora from running herself too ragged during all the excitement.
PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: Try and adjust to new normal a bit more. Make more connections and work out what's happening next, especially with this whole election thing.
AREAS OF INTEREST: Glimmer does some make-up reviews and stuff on social media, also easily run into if you stop by her workplace for tea or coffee. She's very passionate about helping people, too, and may well end up getting involved in local charities and direct action to help those in need.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: Glimmer works at a coffee place, so if you like coffee and tea, there's your automatic in to have met her!
OVERALL GOALS: Mostly just have a good time with the weird cyperpunky bs and to see what kind of odd situations I can put Glimmer in.

SUMMARY OF LAST MONTH: Jack didn't too much beyond recovering from the monster attack stuff, which involved picking up some odd construction jobs on top of his day job for extra credits (and because he's a nice dude deep down, maybe). Also working through plot engagement to try and learn more about merc groups!
PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: I think I'm going to actually throw up a dream log for him to try and get some more CR going or deepen existing CR, since I haven't done that yet and they're fun!
AREAS OF INTEREST: Jack is working the mercenary angle, trying to learn more about them via his job at Giles Bell, since they have a merc group that does jobs for them. I'm currently working on it through plot engagement but suffice to say that he'd like to connect with other characters who are chasing this angle! He wants to know more about who is behind the Displaced drop-offs and also who was behind the abductions during the Gates event.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: Jack's at the fighting rings more often than not because of who he is at a person, and as mentioned, he works security at Giles Bell so if anyone else works there or has reason to go by the corporate building, they could run into each other! He does drop into Red Wings every so often for a beer and to see what his fellow Displaced are up to, as well.
OVERALL GOALS: I'm pretty easy, so just getting more CR / deepening the CR he has, and throwing him at any plot opportunities that grab his interest! Jack is still firmly in the 'find out how we got here and how we can get home' way of thinking, because that's how he be, but he's also not good at being idle so he tends to jump into any game-wide events or plots easily enough. Also random, but any situation where he is either forced to use his power on another Displaced or does it accidentally is like A+++ and I have yet to get to play that!

SUMMARY OF LAST MONTH: Oh you know just went to Antarctica and had a bad time and then came home and fought monsters and had a bad time and then helped clean things up and had a bad time. That's the last two months, I'm a cheater.
PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: WELL Jack knows the secret of his magical secret powers now so he’s less incentivized to keep them secret and probably should improve them at some point. Who wants to fight a ghost fart???
AREAS OF INTEREST: He's got some sweet deets on ALIGN and is currently working on chasing those leads. His niche in the game seems to be solving the mysteries of the implants while continuing to force Cassius to be his friend.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: Gabriel doesn't have a real job, per se, but he does some freelance bouncing at bars and clubs here and there (he's very buff) and also is the bookie's worst nightmare at fight club, betting for and against people and very rarely fighting himself. You might run into him there! He lives with Jack in a shitty apartment and is otherwise a serious soldier-type with a few decades of experience in black ops so if your character needs any kind of training he's a good guy to hit up. You can read more about him here to see if anything strikes your fancy!
OVERALL GOALS: Continue poking around the seedy underbelly of New Amsterdam to see how many crimes he can get away with. GOTTA SOLVE THE MYSTERY OF ALL THIS, maybe. He doesn't trust Morningstar or the other displaced or anyone, really, so I'm interested in having him get his hands dirty as he tries to figure out what's going on and what he can do about it. He wasn't a huge fan of the UN back home and he likes them even less now that they rule the world! He’s VERY pleased that they’re so kneecapped right now.

PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: Arriving and settling in, mostly! He'll be super interested to find out what's going on, what powers to be could outdo his own company Zenith, and likely get a general feel for everything.
AREAS OF INTEREST: Quin is a very active, authoritative type who is used to a certain sense of power & control. He'll immediately be seeking out ways to find opportunities to regain this where he can. He's best(?) with those easy to trust and willing to give him second chances/benefit of the doubt since he'll manipulate the hell out of them to have some sort of defense when he inevitably does something terrible. come on, you know him, he's just weird and misunderstood and woe is him!!
otherwise, I'd love love love for fellow villain and/or morally grey people CR. whether it be butting heads or joining forces, I really want him to have rivals or enemies to motivate him to be awful.
also. he has tentacles so that's definitely gonna come up at some point.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: I'm totally open to whatever! He'll likely be causing trouble wherever he goes so he'll be easy to find/approach and be like 'hey fucking stop.' he'll also be investigating his powers/other people's and noting them all down for SCIENCE so he might ask you weird, invasive questions right off the bat once he recognizes someone else with abilities.
OVERALL GOALS: For right now, I really want him to abuse his power immediately and then someone to tell him off over it. Or just get in trouble for it.
ANYTHING ELSE: as a heads up, I do have an opt-out for Quin because he's Not A Good Dude. he's hypersexual as well as someone that crosses boundaries and has the tendency to psychologically terrorize people. if this isn't for you or you'd just like me to avoid sexual stuff, certain topics, etc. just let me know!! comments are screened, no questions asked, etc.

PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: getting gainfully employed, discovering his power, drinking some more, meeting more people

HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: right now, he mostly hangs out around quentin and eliot's apartment, red wings for the booze and then he'll go out occasionally to enjoy the nightlife. he's not a hugely social person but he's not a recluse either. he goes out and has fun.
OVERALL GOALS: i really just want to get him a job and for him to figure out his power so he can get mad and knock people off their feet.

POWER: Bioelectricity Manipulation (which for now means powering small devices and reflexively putting up an inch-deep protective barrier around himself in life-or-death situations).
JOB: None yet, but knowing Tony, he'll try to jump over the rungs of """menial""" jobs and prove himself deserving of a position that his ~brilliance~ is ~truly qualified for~ (ha ha ha get rekt, douchebag).
SUMMARY OF LAST MONTH: Tony is a CRAU from Prismatica. If you're curious about what he may have gotten up to during his year there, there's a summary of his general character/relationship development on his ML app page, and a full list of all his threads from Prisma on his tracker!
PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: Tony will generally be orienting himself to the new situation, as well as coming to grips with the fact that even the familiar faces here don't share any of his memories from Lunatia. So basically he'll be catching up with canonmates
and comic-mates???, meeting new peeps, and developing new alliances / tentative friendships while contemplating the meaning of his continued existence in a dimension parallel to the one where he self-immolated to save the universe -- cool, cool.AREAS OF INTEREST: This probably isn't news to anyone, but Tony's main fields of expertise are in robotics and AI programming -- which should prove real interesting in a setting where it seems AI is, like, extremely taboo and outlawed. Would love any opportunity to slam this reality into his face, or for some kind of CR to pique his interest in regards to work-arounds he might try, as well as potential severe consequences.

OVERALL GOALS: Back in Prisma, Tony was constantly looking for a way to get home and untangle whatever potential conspiracy and/or powers-that-be that were keeping him and the other Moonblessed there. Now, it'll be much the same with the Displaced, where he'll be trying to help out and get some semblance of control back over his situation by trying to make an impact and help people with his not-inconsequential skillset. (Since he's a mega-protagonist in his canon, he still struggles with the fact that he can't magically be at the center of everything and fix things left and right like he does back home, so that's pretty much always an ongoing theme where I love to play with it and have him fall flat on his face. 👍👍👍)

SUMMARY OF LAST MONTH: Clarke had the following happen:
→ Grieving: Clarke learned that her mother died, and she's coping with that. She kind of went off the grid to begin to deal with it, and wasn't at work for a while.
→ Prepping a proposal: Basically taking everyone's feedback and putting it together.
→ Cast Stuff: This blew up less than expected, but Clarke learned that Murphy doesn't actually hate her.
PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: The primary plan is a post that Gee and I have planned for tomorrow with a lot of proposals for other characters to take charge on. Clarke and Stephen have a lot of resources at their disposal to pass around, and they want to get moving on! So, that's it. I'm also going to do a top level at the log with her most likely.
AREAS OF INTEREST:
→ Leadership and long-term role: Clarke has been with the game since the beginning. She's been through all of the events (though one she sat out and heard about second hand). She also spearheads the bar with Stephen, so there will be areas there where she is people's boss. Clarke is very people-oriented and will help someone figure out what direction they may need in the world if they're feeling a little lost. If your character needs someone to boss them around, Clarke is their gal.
→ Red Wings: Clarke and Stephen Strange both run the bar! You can see the information on this here. While Clarke wasn't always present in the early Red Wings months, she is present most of the time now.
→ Medical stuff: Clarke can bandage someone up and I can pretend I know a single lick of anything about medicine. I don't. But good news: neither do the writers on The 100.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES:
→ Medical things! If the thread is just a quick patch up, we can easily handwave this. However, I am totally down for some hurt/comfort if you don't expect me to pay like any attention to the actual medical part of it.
→ Oldbie! Being here since day one, Clarke can help with knowing if someone else's CR has been around before, as long as they've been on the network.
→ Red Wings! If your character works at Red Wings, they know who Clarke is! She is their boss. She has been around a lot more since after the simulation, so she is a permanent fixture there. She helps with food prep in the morning, and does scheduling. If you'd like to work out someone's dynamic with Clarke, let me know.
OVERALL GOALS: Clarke is reworking her plans due to some news from home, but my personal goal with her is to just continue on this trajectory (and ignore that my show ever got a season 7 I guess).

PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: soup kitchen/safe house volunteering, and some kind of gainful employment that he can contribute to the rent & groceries fund with. cas is digging into monster-related info, and sort of on accident, morningstar and human/ai war info. he's really wanting to study this connection with the Displaced and the golden-eyed creatures more, but can't exactly waltz outside the walls and snag one. I'm going to have him wander the Midsummer festivities too and probably get real awkward around some of this sexy nonsense, plus trying all the food he can get his hands on. He'll be really interested in exploring the culture and tradition, especially any lore, probably hanging around the maypoles.
AREAS OF INTEREST: religion/divinity related things, Learning How To Human more (or quietly enjoying being human, don't tell anyone), exploring this AI thing, this world's lore, the source of displaced power and how it goes to the golden eyed creatures
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: Cas can be found at Red Wings often enough, either hanging out around Dean while he works or volunteering to help rebuild/repair, or just carry a tray of food for someone who looks like they're struggling. He's a helpful dude. Cas does a lot of wandering, especially in the greener areas of the city, probably hangs out in parks. He was part of the caves mission, so he may have talked or fought alongside some people there, and worked on securing the hospital.
OVERALL GOALS: For the moment, expanding his CR and getting him into monster-hunting and world-state investigation, eventually.

SUMMARY OF LAST MONTH: Murphy kept his head down as his kru generously decided not to kick him out over some heavy betrayals and secrets from back home. The fallout of it all somehow brought them closer together, and most of his focus has been on Clarke's wellbeing while she's in the process of grieving her mother. He's just been trying to keep everything running as smooth as possible on the domestic front.
PLANS FOR THE NEXT MONTH: An extremely penitent Murphy will keep looking for ways he can help out with his family and over at Red Wings, so Clarke can keep focusing on Clarke. He's also reluctantly participating in some Nightblood experimentation, which is terrifying for him, but… If it helps!
AREAS OF INTEREST: Murphy goes wherever his kru goes, so anything that involves Clarke or Bellamy also has a chance of hooking him in. He's on his best behavior, which means he's not likely to go looking for trouble, but he makes a pretty good target for anyone with a grudge against the other two. He also (still) hasn't figured out his power! And learning about it will involve getting someone to absolutely loathe him for no reason. Volunteers?
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: Murphy lives with Clarke, Bellamy, and Lexa, so anyone who hangs around their place might run into him. He's usually in the kitchen at Red Wings, but when his shift is over, he's been known to hang around and drink for… a few hours.
OVERALL GOALS: Murphy is constantly wrestling with morality and loyalty. I love putting him in positions that challenge him there. His #1 goal is to stay alive, and while he's learning to be less selfish, he makes bad decisions when he's scared. I'm looking for a reason to get him to do the wrong thing and get involved with the wrong people.

AREAS OF INTEREST: Friendships, mentorships, someone who would take Diana on a date for the love of all the gods, physical training, PRESERVE/charity work, vigilante work, someone being like "hey why are you so stronk?" and Diana straight up just telling them she's an Amazon because she's stopped giving a single fuck about it.
HANDWAVED CR OPPORTUNITIES: Meeting up in the cool part of downtown, self-defense/martial weapon training, hanging out at Red Wings, checking in at the safehouse, and whatever else happens in the displaced's day to day lives. I'm here for both a long time and a good time so let's just do whatever we want.
OVERALL GOALS: You know what's cool... learning how to live a normal(?) life without worrying about outing yourself as an immortal goddess to your closest friends because the island of other immortals you were trying to protect 99.9% does not exist here so it's actually a nonissue. And also protecting this megacity by skulking around at night with your indestructible bracers and magical glowing lasso. Sounds like a good life.
